美東夏令時間2024年7月13日18時11分，美國前總統當勞·特朗普在賓夕凡尼亞州巴特勒農場為競選年底總統大選造勢的活動集會中遭遇槍擊[11]。特朗普在射擊當刻右耳受創濺血[12][13][14]，隨後迅速被特勤局保鑣包圍保護。面部染血的特朗普在特勤掩護下起身並向群眾握拳高舉示意，成為事件中廣為流傳的標誌性畫面。他於離場送往醫院治療後情況穩定[15][16]。

襲擊特朗普的槍手被確定為居住於賓夕凡尼亞州貝塞爾帕克（英語：Bethel_Park,_Pennsylvania）的20歲男子湯馬士·馬修·布魯克斯。[17]執法人員和多位目擊者稱，克魯克斯爬到集會場地外的屋頂上，用AR-15式半自動步槍發射了八發子彈，隨後被特勤局反襲擊隊的狙擊手擊斃。[18][19]聯邦和地方官員報告稱，嫌疑槍手和一名集會參與者被殺，兩名參與者受重傷[9]，三人均為男性[20]。州警指特朗普耳上創傷是由受子彈擊碎濺飛的玻璃碎片所致[21]。

特朗普的演講開始六分鐘後[23]，他向其支持者展示一份有關邊境口岸的數字圖表，這時兩陣槍聲響起，人群開始尖叫。美國特勤局特工衝向特朗普，特朗普在地上躺了大約25秒[23]。隨後他被特勤局特工匆忙護送下演講台。在這一過程之中，被子彈擦傷右耳的特朗普[12][13][14]臉上和右耳上滿是鮮血。他高舉拳頭，似乎重複了三次同一個單音節詞。它似乎是「戰鬥，戰鬥，戰鬥」（"Fight!Fight!Fight!"）[24]。
