2012年舉行的新加坡國會議員後港單選區補選，導因於原任之新加坡工人黨籍議員饒欣龍於當年2月15日遭開除黨籍，國會議長柏默依據《新加坡共和國憲法》，於2月22日宣佈後港議席懸空，從開除黨籍當天起生效。該選區隨即在5月26日進行補選，由當地選民選出替補的國會議員。
這是新加坡在21世紀舉行的第一次國會議員補選，提名日為5月16日，投票日5月26日。本次補選共有2萬3368位合格選民，工人黨籍方榮發以62.08%的得票率，為該黨保住後港單選區議席。
一名國會議員在競選期間所代表的政黨，若他不再是其黨員，或被其開除黨籍，或向其辭去黨籍，則他的議席應懸空。

《新加坡共和國憲法》第46(2)(b)條文新加坡工人黨開除後港單選區議員饒欣龍的黨員身份，引發本次補選。這次事件也使饒欣龍喪失工人黨財政相關職務。依據《新加坡共和國憲法》第46(2)(b)條文規定，一名國會議員在競選期間所代表的政黨，若該名議員遭該政黨開除黨籍，則該名議員的國會議席依法懸空。新加坡在1993年發生過議員開除黨籍事件，詹時中遭新加坡民主黨開除，然而新加坡高等法庭於同年12月下令恢復詹時中黨籍和議員身份。
