古屠蝎（学名：Palaeophonus）是一属已灭绝的蝎子，是世界上最早出现的蝎子之一[2]。
词源[编辑]
属名意为“古老的杀手”。
描述[编辑]
古屠蝎的外型和现今出现的蝎子相似，大小约2.5—3.5英寸（64—89 mm）[3]，不具有眼睛[4]。
古屠蝎被认为与其他志留纪的蝎子一样，是最早登上陆地的动物之一。不过，化石研究显示，古屠蝎其实仍然保有发展完整的鳃，类似于同时期的海蝎[5]；此外，古屠蝎的附肢与海蝎类似，可能是水陆两栖的掠食动物。
化石纪录[编辑]
古屠蝎的化石发现于志留纪至石炭纪时期（428.2至314.6百万年前）的欧洲、美国及加拿大[6]。
