泰坦鸟（学名Titanis）或泰坦恐鹤是一属非常大及不能飞的肉食性鸟类，其名字是以古希腊神话奥林匹斯十二主神之前的神明泰坦来命名，意谓其巨大的身型。泰坦鸟属下只有一种，称为“泰坦巨鸟”（T. walleri），是纪念完模标本的发现者Benjamin I. Waller。它生存于490-180万年前的北美洲，在美国科罗拉多州及德克萨斯州都有发现其化石。估计它们直至15000年前才灭绝^[2]，但更准确的估计是最少于180万年前就已经灭绝了。^[3]^[1]泰坦鸟是属于巨大及不能飞的骇鸟，在分支中属较年轻的物种。身高可达 2.5米（8英尺2英寸），体重则约 150千克（330英磅）^[4]。

泰坦鸟估计约高 1.4至2.5米（4英尺7英寸至8英尺2英寸）及重 150千克（330英磅），但差异较大，故它们有可能是两性异形。^[5]虽然未有发现它的头颅骨，但从其近亲可以肯定它是很大，且有像斧头的鸟嘴。

它的双翼细小，故不可能用来飞翔，相反有一对爪可以用来抓住猎物^[6]，然而在之后的研究发现，泰坦鸟的前肢构造与它们现存的近亲叫鹤科（泰坦鸟、恐鹤、叫鹤均属于叫鹤目）十分雷同，但叫鹤的前肢并不具有爪，因此泰坦鸟的前肢可能其实并不具有可以抓握猎物的爪^[7]。

整体而言，泰坦鸟非常近似它们在南美洲的近亲：恐鹤及 Devincenzia（英语：Devincenzia），但拥有较粗短的脖子，以及较为粗壮的身体。就它的遗骸所知甚少，只知道比 Devincenzia 的脚窄，但中趾则按比例较大。^[8]

泰坦鸟为肉食性，但可能多半以当时的小型哺乳动物为食^[9]，包括荷氏兽属、雕兽属、马、貘、水豚等。
