貝特霍爾德·勞費爾

貝特霍爾德·勞費爾（德語：Berthold Laufer，1874年—1934年），生於德國科隆，移民美國，東方學家與漢學家。通曉漢語、日語、藏語。1901年-1904年，1908年- 1910年，1923年多次在中國進行長期考察，對中國的玉器，瓷器，象牙雕刻，牌摟等都有研究。自述「我深愛中國的國土和人民」。

生平

出生於德國猶太人家庭。1893年在柏林大學從 Wilhelm Grube攻讀漢學。1897年獲得德國萊比錫大學博士學位。1898年移民美國。

勞費爾晚年患有憂鬱症，1934年9月13日，在芝加哥跳樓自殺身亡。
