雀亞目（學名：Passeri），又名雀形亞目、鳴禽亞目或燕雀亞目，是雀形目下的一個大型亞目。 雀形目包含約5000種左右的物種[1][2]在世界各地被發現，其中發聲器官鳴管（英語：Syrinx）通常朝著產生多變且繁複的鳥鳴的傾向演化。
鳴禽是現存雀形目的兩個主要譜系之一（約 4000 種），另一種是霸鶲亞目（學名：Tyranni，或稱叫禽亞目，約有1000種），它們在新熱帶界最為多樣化，在世界許多地方都不存在。[3] 霸鶲亞目的物種有一個更簡單的鳴管肌肉組織，牠們所發出的聲音整體上相較鳴禽規律。
除了這兩個雀形目下的亞目，紐西蘭的刺鷯科（學名：Acanthisittidae）是構成雀形目外的第三個分支，其中只有兩個物種存活至今。[4] 一些證據表明，鳴禽在 5000 萬年前在岡瓦納大陸經演化機制產生，在該大陸分裂後，鳴禽更自該大陸所分裂而成之地區散布到全球各地。[5][6]
描述[編輯]
此演化支中的物種之鳴聲基本上是領域性的，因為鳴聲向其他鳥類個體顯示出鳴叫個體的身份（所屬群體及個體特徵）及所在地點，同時表示了交配行為方面的意向。[7]
