Touchpress由西奧多·格雷, Max Whitby, John Cromie和史蒂芬·沃爾夫勒姆在iPad發布後不久創立。[12][13]首個被出版的應用是「元素」 ("The Elements")，創意來自於幾位創始人在一張咖啡桌前共同討論完成的一部關於元素周期表的書籍。[14]
