“刀锋边缘”（Edguy）是一个来自德国富尔达的力量金属乐团。

刀锋边缘乐团由一群十四岁的学生 Tobias Sammet 、 Jens Ludwig 、 Dirk Sauer 以及 Dominik Storch 在一九九二年成立，团名《 Edguy 》其实是他们当时的数学老师 Edgar 先生的昵称。直到一九九八年 Tobias Exxel 加入时，他们依然没有 Bass 手，主唱 Sammet 当时用键盘作出 Bass 的旋律。
录制了两张 Demo 后，他们在一九九五年得到 AFM Records 一纸合约。最初的两张专辑销售不甚理想，但一九九八年的《 Vain Glory Opera 》（颠覆歌剧）专辑是他们的转捩点。之后他们又创作了两张专辑，德国厂牌 Nuclear Blast 于二〇〇四年签下他们。
在二〇〇一、二〇〇二之间， Tobias Sammet 发行了他的个人作品《 Avantasia 》（金属歌剧：七封印传说），参与的不乏许多知名音乐人，无庸置疑是一部成功的金属歌剧。
乐风[编辑]
《 Edguy 》以简洁明快的旋律搭配主唱 Sammet 的高音域，如同典型的欧洲力量金属。他们的歌词经常隐喻、暗示著一些哲学或社会的主题：顺服（ The Headless Game 、 Mysteria 、 King of Fools ）、教会的命令（ The Kingdom 、 Theater of Salvation ）以及现代文明的危险（ Navigator 、 The Devil and the Savant ），当表现这些主题时，《 Edguy 》使用超自然的、神秘学的词句，不过也有些比较轻松、诙谐的歌曲（ Das Reh 、 Save Us Now 、 Lavatory Love Machine 、 Life And Times Of A Bonus Track ）。刀锋边缘乐团没有自许任何意识形态， Tobias Sammet 是这么说的：“我们没有政治，也没有宗教色彩；至少在我们的歌曲当中，没有明确的讯息教你该怎么想事情。”（ We are not political and we are not religious; at least there is no key message in our songs telling you what to think in terms of anything ）。《 Edguy 》同时也在大部分的作品中采用较长的史诗式章节。
Hellfire Club revealed Edguy's interest in experimenting within music by integrating an orchestra into the production. The album featured a variation on Edguy's style, with a less grandiose, more traditional 重金属音乐 approach being embraced. Their latest album, Rocket Ride, features even less symphonic and 力量金属 elements, and is arguably more oriented towards 硬式摇滚.

Edguy toured with the well known 力量金属 band 龙族乐团 in early 2006 after the release of the latter's Inhuman Rampage album.
In July 2006, Edguy played at the Metalcamp festival in Slovenia, where they played a joke on fellow Germans Kreator, who played next. Tobias asked the audience to do him a favour: Once Kreator came on stage and played one song, the crowd was to start singing "Oh lay, oh lay". Not only did the crowd do this, but they continued to sing this following almost every song played by Kreator, prompting Mille Petrozza to stop and ask, "Is this still about the Edguy thing?"
