铅色水蛇（学名：Hypsiscopus plumbea），又名铅色蛇[2]，为水蛇科铅色蛇属的爬行动物，俗名水泡蛇。分布于缅甸、泰国、越南、马来西亚、印度尼西亚、中国大陆以及台湾等地，主要生活于平原、丘陵或低山地区的水稻田、池塘、湖泊、小河及其附近水域。其生存的海拔上限为980米。该物种的模式产地在印度尼西亚爪哇。[3]
特征[编辑]
铅色水蛇为小型蛇类，身长多不超过100公分，体型粗短，背部为咖啡色，体侧、腹部有黑色斑纹，腹部的黑色斑纹为交错状排列，腹部较偏橘红色，成熟后的个体腹部颜色较淡。
习性[编辑]
有"后沟牙"(opisthoglyphic teeth)含微弱的神经性毒液，但不会致人于死。栖息在山区的水塘、溪流、水田中，以鱼类（如：泥鳅）、小型青蛙为食。胎生，春季开始繁殖，日夜间均有活动。
保护[编辑]
铅色水蛇目前被台湾列为第三级“应予保育类”野生动物。
