莫里奧里語（Moriori）是一門已絕跡[1]的馬來－波利尼西亞語族語言，與毛利語十分接近。它是生活在查塔姆群島的莫里奧里人的母語。
歷史[編輯]
1835年毛利人的入侵對莫里奧里人的人口、文化、語言造成了巨大影響，1862年時僅有101個莫里奧里人存活下來[2]，而到1870年代已很少有人說莫里奧里語了。[3]不過，1873年至1891年間任查塔姆群島地方治安官（Resident Magistrate）的Samuel Deighton編寫了一本小型的莫里奧里語詞彙表，其中包含了對應的毛利語與英語翻譯。
作為莫里奧里人文化復興運動的一部分，2001年起莫里奧里人開始嘗試恢復這門語言，並編寫了一個莫里奧里語的單詞數據庫。[4]
2006年新西蘭人口普查顯示有945人選擇「莫里奧里語」為他們部落身份的一部分，而1901年普查時這一人數只有35人。[5]
