《囧男大爆炸》（英語：The Big Bang Theory，縮寫作TBBT），是由查克·洛爾和比爾·皮禮迪（英語：Bill Prady）創作的美國處境喜劇，在2007年9月24日由哥倫比亞廣播公司（CBS）推出[2]，於2019年5月16日第12季播放後劇終結束。

這部劇集劇情設定於加利福尼亞州帕薩迪納市，圍繞四名受僱於加州理工學院的科研理工男的情感生活展開。租住同一間公寓的實驗物理學家里安納·荷夫斯特（英語：Leonard Hofstadter）和理論物理學家薛爾登·高栢（英語：Sheldon Cooper）、航天工程師侯活·和路威茲（英語：Howard Wolowitz）、印度籍天體物理學家雷傑·高化波里（英語：Rajesh Koothrappali）為同事、朋友關係，並且均有書呆子氣、均缺乏社交能力。住在他們對門的是一位剛搬進公寓的漂亮金髮餐廳女侍應潘妮，她有志成為一名演員。四位書呆子氣的高智商主角與善於社交、依賴常識的潘妮形成鮮明的對比，讓全劇充滿了喜劇色彩[3][4]。

《囧男大爆炸》於美國東部時間周一晚間9時30分播放，緊跟另一部由洛爾製作的劇集《好漢兩個半》[8]。2009年9月21日第三季第一集播映時，創下了CBS夜間18-49歲成人觀眾收視率的新紀錄（4.6/10），當時共有1283萬觀眾收看該劇[9]。2010年5月19日，CBS宣佈會在2010～2011年檔期內，改在東部時間周四晚八點的黃金檔播放該劇。2011年1月12日，CBS宣佈續簽此劇三年延至2013-2014季度。在2014年3月，該劇再次獲得為期三季度的續約，使得該劇延至2016-17季度，達到10季。2017年3月，製作方宣佈將續約兩季度，到2018-19季度，至12季。2018年8月，官方宣佈第12季將為該劇的最後一季。

在全劇首播之前，2006年曾有有過一集試播集。該集與正式劇集差別較大，且沒有受到好評。CBS在看過之後鼓勵編劇重新創作，才有了之後的正式版試播集。占士·伯羅斯（英語：James Burrows）執導了此劇的第二版試播集，但他此後沒有繼續參與拍攝。2007年5月14日，重拍後的試播集讓CBS訂購了13集《囧男大爆炸》[10]。在CBS播映前，iTunes上已經免費提供了該試播集的下載。《囧男大爆炸》初映於2007年10月19日[11]。

2007年11月6日，由於美國編劇協會大罷工的影響，《囧男大爆炸》的製片被迫停止，直到2008年3月17日才在熒幕上回歸：當季剩餘的9集被挪至較早時段播出[12][13][14]。罷工結束後，電視網決定在2008至2009年電視季繼續播映該劇的第二季。2008年9月22日，CBS在相同時段播出了第二季的第一集[15]。隨着收視率的提高，該劇得到了2009至2010年、2010至2011年兩個季度的續約[16][17]。

洛杉磯加利福尼亞大學的物理／天文學教授大衛·薩爾茨伯格（David Saltzberg）負責檢查劇本，幫助完善對白和數學方程，並提供了用作道具的圖表[3]。執行製片以及共同創始人比爾·皮禮迪曾說到：「從第一季開始，我們就給薛爾登找了一個真正的問題來解決，所以在白板上看到的是解決問題的真實進度……我們下了很大的功夫來確保科學上的正確性。」[4][18]

加拿大另類搖滾樂隊「裸體女郎」（Barenaked Ladies）為該劇演唱片頭30秒的主題曲，其歌詞描述宇宙的發展以及地球和人類的變遷。「裸體女郎」樂隊的主唱兼結他手愛德·羅伯遜（Ed Robertson）應製片人特別邀請後，受英國著名科普作家、粒子物理學家西蒙·星（Simon Singh）所著《大爆炸》一書的啟發後譜寫了此曲。2007年10月9日，該曲發行1分45秒的完整版本《萬物史》（The History of Everything）[20]。在2010年的一期《電視指南》雜誌中，該劇的片頭動畫在最受讀者喜愛的10大片頭曲中名列第六。
