當代文化研究中心（英語：Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies，CCCS）是英國伯明翰大學的一所研究中心。它由斯圖亞特·霍爾和第一任主任理查德·霍加特（英語：Richard Hoggart）於1964年創立。[1][2]1964-2002年間，它在文化研究領域的發展中有着重要地位。[3]

該中心進行了許多重要研究，培養了不少傑出研究人員和學者。斯圖亞特·霍爾於1968年成為該中心的主任，提出了開創性的傳播的編碼/解碼模型。特別值得一提的是集體研究的成果《監控危機》（Policing the Crisis，1978）[13]， 這是一項針對「搶劫」（街頭暴力）的法律和秩序運動的研究。它預示了1980年代瑪格麗特·戴卓爾領導的保守黨政府的許多法律和秩序話題。大衛·莫利（David Morley）和夏洛特·布倫斯登（Charlotte Brunsdon）在《全國項目》（The Nationwide Project）中開創了該中心的實證研究方法。

新成立的文化研究和社會學系在2002年突然意外地關閉，大學的高層管理稱此舉為「重組」。[14]解散新部門的直接原因是其在英國2001年科研評估（RAE）的結果出乎意料地差，而該大學的一位院長認為關閉的決策是「缺乏經驗的『大男子主義管理』」的結果。[15]學生和教職工發起了拯救學院運動，在全國媒體上引起了廣泛關注，世界各地的前校友寄來大量支持信件，但運動未能成功。[16]該院系14名教職員工中，有4名被「保留」，數百名學生（當時有近250名本科生和研究生，其中許多來自國外）被轉移到其他系。在隨後的爭執中，多數部門員工離職。
