謝榮光（Hsieh Yung-kuan，1848年—1916年2月4日）字「春生」（謝春生作Cheah Choon-seng或Tjia Tioen-sen），號「夢池」（謝夢池作Cheah Meng-chi），出生於荷屬東印度坤甸（今屬印度尼西亞）。祖籍廣東省嘉應州（今廣東省梅州市），客家人，馬來西亞華人領袖、中華民國官員。他於1895年至1903年以及1906年至1907年任中國駐檳城州副領事，亦是印尼日里銀行（Deli Bank）的創始董事之一。[1]
生平[編輯]
1848年，謝榮光出生於荷屬東印度坤甸。他曾充任荷屬東印度政府的糧食和食品供應商八年。在移居蘇門答臘島西海岸的班達亞齊之後，他仍任承包商，而且其承包範圍越來越大，包括承建鐵路、鴉片及農場等。他被任命為雷珍蘭（Lieutenant），21年後他升任甲必丹。荷屬東印度政府授予其「Trouw en Verdienste」金星，以及傑出貢獻金質獎章。
在1898年前後，他將其生意轉讓給其律師梁木安，自己移居檳城喬治市蓮花河路8號（No. 8, Leith Street）。1896年（光緒廿二年丙申），他被清政府任命為第三任駐檳城副領事，1897年鬻官同知銜，1898年獲封二品頂戴鹽運使銜，1901年8月離職，1907年再任，至同年冬辭職，其職位由其女婿梁輝（梁碧如）接任。
在此期間，他和女婿梁輝共同成立霹靂咖啡山錫礦公司，在霹靂州打捫以及吉隆坡附近的文冬開礦。他是檳州華人大會堂委員會委員。他同坤甸市長Chong Hi的女兒張氏結婚。[2][3][4]
他還和張弼士、梁輝、張鴻南以及鬍子春創立了中華學校（Chung Hua School，或稱中華學堂），這是馬來亞第一所以華語作為教學語言的現代華文學校。[5]
1916年2月4日，謝榮光在檳城喬治市逝世。[6]
