生平[编辑]
史蒂夫·麦奎因的父亲威廉是高空特技飞行员，在麦奎因还只是六个月大时遗弃了母子两人[1]，而母亲茱莉亚也在麦奎因4岁时把他寄养在她父母（即麦奎因外祖父母Victor及Lillian）于密苏里州的家。随后美国陷入大萧条，外祖父母唯有带着史蒂夫到Lillian的兄弟Claude（即史蒂夫舅公）的农场上寻生计[1]。
到了麦奎因8岁时，母亲再嫁后又回来找他，一家三口搬回印第安纳州。麦奎因回忆起离开农场时，舅公给他一只怀表，上面刻写了：“给对我来说是儿子一样的史蒂夫”。[2] 因麦奎因当时相当顽劣，他母亲最后送他回到他舅公的农场上。到了史蒂夫12岁时，已改嫁到加州洛杉矶的母亲再次找回麦奎因，他籍此开始演艺生涯。
拜师学习截拳道，师傅是李小龙（李当时尚未成名，出演美国电视剧《青蜂侠》）。美国海军陆战队上等兵退役。
