The Hongxi era was the Chinese era used by the Hongxi Emperor, the fourth emperor of China's Ming dynasty, from 20 January 1425 (Template:Zhi; '1st day of the 1st month of the 1st year of the Hongxi era' until his death on 29 May 1425 (Template:Zhi; '12th day of the 5th month of the 1st year of the Hongxi era'). On 29 May 1425, the Xuande Emperor ascended the throne and continued to use the era until 7 February 1426 (Template:Zhi; '30th day of the 12th month of the 1st year of the Hongxi era'). The following day, 8 February 1426 (Template:Zhi; '1st day of the 1st month of the 1st year of the Xuande era'), the era was changed to the Xuande era.[1]
