（174567） 瓦爾妲 （2003 MW12）是一顆海王星外天體，絕對星等為3.4[2]。它很有可能成為一顆矮行星。它由傑弗里·A·拉森於2003年6月21日通過太空監視望遠鏡發現[8]。
它目前距離太陽47.5天文單位[7]，將於2096年11月到達近日點[4][9]。它在14次沖時已被觀測到58次，最早的照片可追溯到1980年[2]。
麥可·E·布朗自動更新的網站將它列為很有可能的矮行星，但它的直徑至今還沒有測得[10]。
命名[編輯]
該小行星以J·R·R·托爾金作品《精靈寶鑽》中的人物瓦爾妲命名。[11]
衛星[編輯]
天文學家於2009年發現瓦爾妲至少擁有1顆衛星：這顆衛星以J·R·R·托爾金作品中邁雅之首，瓦爾妲的婢女伊爾瑪瑞命名。如果假設其密度和反照率與瓦爾妲相同，那它的直徑約為350千米（即瓦爾妲的50%），占系統質量的8%，或2×1019 千克。伊爾瑪瑞離瓦爾妲非常近，軌道半長軸僅為4809±39 千米（12倍瓦爾妲半徑），軌道周期為5.75天。[12]
