蛾螺總科（学名：Buccinoidea），亦作蛾螺超科^[3]，是新腹足目之下一個總科。本總科物種在尺寸方面的差異很大，但皆為捕食性海螺。

根據2005年的《布歇特和洛克羅伊的腹足類分類》^[4]，峨螺總科是新腹足類分支之下的一個總科；而新腹足類分支則取代了過去旁得和林德伯格的腹足類分類 (1997年)的新腹足下目。

型態描述[编辑]

本總科物種的主要特点是贝壳坚固，壳上通常具发达的螺肋^[3]^[5]。在软体部的解剖特征上差异很小^[3]^[6]。如同其他新腹足目物種，齒舌作梁舌型，呈銼（英语：rasp）狀^[3]^[5]^[7]。齒式都很近似，^[3]^[5]，每排只有三枚舌齒^[7]。

多樣性[编辑]

本總科絕大多數物種皆為海螺，但有8至10個物種已適應在淡水環境生活，成為了淡水螺。

本總科舊屬中腹足目，原屬1997年《旁得和林德伯格的腹足類分類》的新腹足下目^[8]。根據2005年的《布歇特和洛克羅伊的腹足類分類》^[4]，峨螺總科包括以下各個科：

峨螺科 Buccinidae Rafinesque, 1815
- Busyconinae（英语：Busyconidae） Wade, 1917 (1867)：2015年時曾有文獻提升至科級，但在2017年的分類又再降回成為峨螺科的亞科^[9]。
布紋螺科 Colubrariidae Dall, 1904
核螺科 Columbellidae（英语：Columbellidae） Swainson, 1840：又名麥螺科^[10]
† Echinofulguridae Petuch, 1994
细带螺科^[3] Fasciolariidae Gray, 1853：又名旋螺科。
香螺科 Melongenidae（英语：Melongenidae） Gill, 1871 (1854)：==Galeodidae，又名盔螺科^[11]
织纹螺科 Nassariidae Iredale, 1916 (1835)

2017年分類[编辑]

根據2017年的《布歇特等人的腹足類分類》^[12]，峨螺總科除以下變更之外，其他組成不變：

新增Belomitridae Kantor, Puillandre, Rivasseau & Bouchet, 2012這個科；
曾被提升至科級的Busyconidae Wade, 1917 (1867)又再被降為峨螺科之下的亞科^[9]；
Pisaniinae Gray, 1857這個亞科被提升為Pisaniidae Gray, 1857這個科；
Pusiostomatidae Iredale, 1940被認為是Pisaniidae Gray, 1857的異名；
新增Tudiclidae Cossmann, 1901這個科。
