笨嘴笨舌獎英语Foot in Mouth Award),又譯語無倫次獎不知所云獎,是一項由英國簡明英語組織(Plain English Campaign)創立的獎項。這獎項專門頒發給「言語令人困惑的公眾人士」[1],用以督促公眾人物向大眾提供資訊時,應使用簡潔、易懂的語言和文字。

首屆的笨嘴笨舌獎於1993年頒發,得獎者為英國板球隊教練Ted Dexter,翌年舉行第二屆的評選。其後又停辦兩年,直至1997年起每年頒發。此外,英國簡明英語組織還因前美國副總統丹·奎尔在1991年時所講的話而額外向其頒發獎項。

時至目前為止,笨嘴笨舌獎共頒發過18次,當中只有威爾斯政治家洛蒂·摩根兩度問鼎該獎項。另一方面,政治家是這獎項的得獎常客,共九度贏得此「榮譽」;其次為體育界人物,四度把獎項收入囊中。

1994 戈登·布朗 Gordon Brown 當時還是英國影子財政大臣的白高敦在「新經濟論壇」中的說出不少令人困惑的話:「後新古典內生增長理論的增長」(the growth of post neo-classical endogenous growth theory)和「在個人、公司或國家和政府角色對現代工業的工人競爭力和其意義的辯論中可培養競爭力。」(debate over the meaning and implications of competitiveness at the level of individuals, the firm or the nation and the role of government in fashioning modern industrial policies which focus on nurturing competitiveness.) 2009 文德森 Peter Mandelson 英國工黨成員文德森在回應會議開支醜聞時表示:「也許我們不需要更多的人找更多的角落,但這些人應找更多的角落就可更徹底的避免小事情被標誌成首相認為的大事情。」(Perhaps we need not more people looking round more corners but the same people looking round more corners more thoroughly to avoid the small things detracting from the big things the Prime Minister is getting right.) Godfrey Bloom 英國獨立黨人Godfrey Bloom因在2013年間多次失言而奪得此獎。他曾以歧視性語言「Bongo Bongo Land」來形容接受英國援助的國家。之後,他又稱一名女觀眾為「蕩婦」(sluts)。 [17]
2014 羅素·布蘭德 Russell Brand 喜劇演員羅素·布蘭德在一場關於民主的辯論中以無法理解的邏輯問鼎此獎。他在這場辯論中說﹕「我覺得內部混亂是在四處發生的。我喜歡這情況,並對行動主義很有感情,尤其是行動主義滿載潛能。說認真的,對抗運動看來不會停滯,反而是如成立之時般的龐大。」(The internal mayhem I'm feeling is spilling out everywhere.
