《求闻》快讯：维基百科遭委内瑞拉当局屏蔽
【本刊北京2月3日讯】2019年1月11日开始，委内瑞拉境内再次爆发大规模游行；23日，胡安·瓜伊多宣誓就任“临时总统”，与尼古拉斯·马杜罗分庭抗礼，并得到美国等国家的支持。据监视各国互联网封锁情况的网站“Netblock”消息，就在大规模游行开始的次日，维基百科的所有语言版本在委内瑞拉无法访问。这一封锁包括了所有语言的维基百科版本，但不包括维基数据、维基共享资源等其他维基媒体项目。这使得委内瑞拉成为继土耳其之后，全世界第二个完全屏蔽所有语言维基百科的国家。

【《求闻》北京2月7日讯】据英文维基百科《路标》月刊报道，詹姆斯·亚历山大低调退出维基媒体基金会。
詹姆斯·亚历山大曾是基金会的长期雇员，自2010年8月以来一直担任信任与安全部经理，悄然由维基媒体基金会离职。伴随着批评维基百科的论坛——Wikipediocracy上的大量猜测，维基媒体基金会的网站上没有任何声明。亚历山大显然已经悄无声息地从旧金山办公室离职。基金会官网上所有提到亚历山大的地方都已经被小心删除。

近期，有人提醒笔者，端传媒上新发出了一篇文章——《墙外百科墙里人：中国大陆的维基编辑们》（下简称《墙》），里面介绍了中国大陆维基百科社群的一些现状。在读完这篇文章后，笔者对外人眼中的中文维基百科社群有了更深的理解，同时也更加深入地思考了这个社群的本质。
《墙》采编于2018年7月至8月，该文的记者通过实地探访深圳维基聚会的方式获得了部分素材，又通过站内观察、维基媒体编辑部群组内的采访等多种流程，获得了一些资料。《墙》展示的中国大陆社群虽然只是这个社群的冰山一角，然而其提供的视角，却是一个许多来自港澳台乃至新马的维基百科编者很少主动接触的……

《求闻》快讯：2019年瑞典Wikimania补助金申请已经开放
【《求闻》北京2月16日讯】一年一度的维基媒体国际会议（Wikimania）补助金申请自2019年2月15日起开放申请，并于一个月后的3月15日协调世界时23时59分（北京时间3月16日上午7时59分）结束。
今年瑞典斯德哥尔摩年会的补助金申请开放得比往年要晚。去年南非年会的申请早在前一年的12月15日就已经开始，但今年直到2月才开始。
在3月15日申请结束后，基金会有关人员会对申请者进行第一阶段的初选。初选将于3月中旬结束，申请者则将在3月底到4月初收到初选结果。初选将筛选出明显不符合申请条件、恶作剧的申请。之后，第二阶段筛选将由一组专门负责补助金的委员会进行。第二阶段主要考察申请者在维基媒体计划上的贡献。最后敲定的名单将在4到5月发布。
申请表已经被翻译成了简体中文。

2019年1月，维基共享资源上线了多语言说明文字功能，这也是维基共享资源结构化数据计划中首先上线的一部分。
维基共享资源的结构化数据计划启动于2017年。受益于艾尔弗·斯隆基金的捐款，这个项目得以推进。将现有的文件描述转化为结构化的数据，其优势是显而易见的。结构化的数据在使得文件信息易于整理、易于开发者和合作方的对接的同时，也让多语言的分类、描述成为了可能，利用结构化数据生成的元数据也更加有利于文件的检索和存取。

【《求闻》北京2月19日讯】用户Tigerzeng的管理员投票在经过了15天后，以49票支持对1票反对、支持率达98%的高票通过。Tigerzeng的投票是2019年通过的第一个管理员投票。
【《求闻》广东深圳2月19日讯】香港维基人定于2月24日下午2时至6时在九龙湾Megabox举办线下聚会活动。本次聚会由用户春卷柯南和1233组织。组织者说，聚会将讨论“维基媒体项目社群、站务、编辑等事项”。
这是在香港举办的第119次聚会。前次聚会在去年11月举办，以亚洲月为主题。

《求闻》快讯：中文-乌尔都语协作计划3月1日开始
【《求闻》北京2月21日讯】昨日，酝酿两个多月的中文-乌尔都语协作计划敲定举办日期，并向先前登记的有意向者推送通告。通告写道，中文-乌尔都语协作计划将在3月1日开始，至4月15日结束。
这一协作计划在元维基的页面中称，“双方志愿者将会编写对方社群相关历史、文化等内容的条目，以期增进百科质素及两语种维基人之间的友谊”。活动中，只有在中文维基百科创建巴基斯坦和印度相关的条目，以及在乌尔都语维基百科创建中国大陆、香港、澳门、台湾和新加坡相关的条目才作数。而扩充已有条目等其他的改进不算作活动的一部分。其他的要求比较类似DYK（“你知道吗”）的标准。活动的形式则类似“动员令”“亚洲月”等活动，是“编辑松”（edit-a-thon），考验在一定时间内创建扩充条目的数量；但与涵盖所有主题的动员令、涵盖亚洲相关条目的亚洲月相比较下，本次活动的主题更明确。活动不设任何奖品。

The Wikimedia Foundation is planning a global consultation about communication. The goal is to bring Wikimedians and wiki-minded people together to improve tools for communication.
We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis, whatever their experience, their skills or their devices.
We are looking for input from as many different parts of the Wikimedia community as possible. It will come from multiple projects, in multiple languages, and with multiple perspectives.
We are currently planning the consultation. We need your help.
We need volunteers to help talk to their communities or user groups.
You can help by hosting a discussion at your wiki. Here's what to do:
- First, sign up your group here.
- Next, create a page (or a section on a Village pump, or an e-mail thread – whatever is natural for your group) to collect information from other people in your group. This is not a vote or decision-making discussion: we are just collecting feedback.
- Then ask people what they think about communication processes. We want to hear stories and other information about how people communicate with each other on and off wiki. Please consider asking these five questions:
- When you want to discuss a topic with your community, what tools work for you, and what problems block you?
- What about talk pages works for newcomers, and what blocks them?
- What do others struggle with in your community about talk pages?
- What do you wish you could do on talk pages, but can't due to the technical limitations?
- What are the important aspects of a "wiki discussion"?
- Finally, please go to Talk pages consultation 2019 on Mediawiki.org and report what you learned from your group. Please include links if the discussion is available to the public.
You can also help build the list of the many different ways people talk to each other.
Not all groups active on wikis or around wikis use the same way to discuss things: it can happen on wiki, on social networks, through external tools... Tell us how your group communicates.

《求闻》通讯：台湾分会与“李梅树纪念馆”合作一周年——带给我们怎样的启示
【《求闻》上海2月27日讯】 2018年2月25日，“李梅树纪念馆”与台湾维基媒体协会合作，共同组织了第一次线下“工作坊”，拉开了台湾维基媒体协会与“李梅树纪念馆”合作的序幕。这一合作，标志着维基媒体运动进来一直推动的“馆联”（GLAM）计划在台湾迈出第一步。
李梅树（1902-1983），是台湾著名美术家、画家、教授、议员，曾主持修建台湾新北市三峡区的“三峡祖师庙”。现在在新北市三峡区有专门纪念他的“李梅树纪念馆”。纪念馆中有大量李梅树生前所作的艺术作品，这也催生了李梅树纪念馆与台湾维基媒体协会的合作。
李梅树纪念馆在活动声明中说，活动初期将把纪念馆中的展品数字化，上传整理资料、翻译完善对应的维基百科内容。最终希望逐步借助维基的力量，将李梅树向全世界推广。这一活动是由台湾分会牵头的“台湾知识种子计划”的一部分，后期与台湾台中社群的“MoWiki编辑聚”共办。
在过去的一年里，台湾分会与李梅树纪念馆合作共办聚会十次，纪念馆提供各类作品一百五十余件，成果斐然。除了维基百科和维基共享资源上的文字和图片贡献之外，本次合作还大量地利用了维基数据。所有通过这次合作上传的各类图片作品，都有一个自己独立的维基数据“项”（item）。以李梅树的油画作品为例：在对应的“项”里，包括了油画的尺寸、作画所用的材料、年份等。这些李梅树的作品在维基数据的“项”，同时也是“所有绘画作品总和的维基专题”（WikiProject sum of all paintings）的组成部分。这个专题希望把所有有一定知名度的绘画作品在维基数据上建立“项”。
