鹰鸮属（学名：Ninox），是鸮形目鸱鸮科下的一个属。[2]
分类学[编辑]
本物种由英国博物学家布赖恩·霍顿·霍奇森于1837年建立，为其发现的物种Ninox nipalensis所建立。[3]该物种现今为英国政治家斯坦福·莱佛士所描述之鹰鸮的亚种之一。[4]其属名Ninox来自两个旧有的属名：一个是法国博物学家乔治·居维叶于1800年命名的Nisus（意思为鹰，现今为鹰属之异名）；另一个则是法国动物学家玛丽·朱尔斯·塞萨尔·萨维尼于1809年命名的Noctua（意思为猫头鹰，现今为小鸮属之异名）。[5]霍奇森当时认为这种猫头鹰是他认为最像鹰类的猫头鹰。[5]
