馬本是緬甸撣邦北部的一個鎮。它坐落於瑞麗江，與克欽邦的城鎮孟密、八莫和密支那道路互通。[1][2]馬本與中國雲南省的邊境僅90公里（56英里），但距曼德勒北部約200公里（120英里）。[3]
經濟[編輯]
在瑞麗江流域，馬本鎮是一個主要的大米產地。[4]從馬本鎮周圍林地開採的柚木被列為中等品。[5] 在2002年的鴉片調查中，馬本鎮區被聯合國國際麻醉品管制署(UNDCP)確認全區禁毒，這一結果被聯合國毒品和犯罪問題辦公室(UNODC)發表在了2005年度世界毒品報告上。[6][7]
該地區也發現了有金礦床。[8]2004年1月，軍政府與兩家加拿大公司簽署協議，允許其在Set Ga Done和Nga Mu Gyi兩個區域開採金礦。[3]
安全與人權[編輯]
據報道，2005年11月10日，7名被僱傭的牲畜販子被駐紮在孟密的緬甸國防軍某營士兵槍殺。[9]
