國家二戰紀念碑（National World War II Memorial）是美國的一座紀念碑，位於華盛頓哥倫比亞特區市中心的國家廣場，林肯紀念堂和華盛頓紀念碑之間。國家二戰紀念碑於2004年4月29日公開。國家二戰紀念碑於1993年獲國會認可興建，大部分修建資金由籌資獲得。紀念碑於2001年9月動工興建，於2004年4月底完工。2004年5月正式舉行了竣工典禮。從國會通過法案，到紀念碑最終建成，歷經11年。

紀念碑構成[編輯]

整個紀念館呈一個下沉的橢圓形廣場，廣場中間是一個圓形的湖，左右兩旁56根花崗岩柱子，每一根代表着在二戰期間美國的一個州或者一個海外領土（包括菲律賓，二戰時菲律賓尚未從美國獨立）。紀念館的兩個方向都建有一個拱形塔樓，一座刻着大西洋（Atlantic）一座刻着太平洋（pacific），象徵美國在二戰中參加的大西洋和太平洋兩大戰場；塔樓裏面各有三隻巨大的銅質美國雄鷹舉起了象徵勝利的花冠。在彎曲的「自由牆」上刻有4000顆金星，每一顆星都代表着在二戰中犧牲的100位美國人。美國曾經有1600萬軍人參加過二戰，在戰爭中陣亡的人數超過40萬人。目前仍然在世的還有400多萬人。他們基本上都是80歲左右的老人，而且每天平均有1056人告別人世。
