东非肺鱼（学名：Protopterus amphibius），又称短鳍肺鱼，为非洲肺鱼属的四种现生物种之一，于1844年由德国博物学家威廉·彼得斯发表描述。本种分布于东非，已在索马里、肯亚与莫桑比克被发现，包括埃瓦索恩吉罗河与尚比西河流域，且可能作为引入种出现在坦桑尼亚。模式种采集于莫桑比克，且有学者认为肯亚的族群应归为另一物种。本种在当地为食用鱼^[1]^[5]。对于本种的生态研究仍较缺乏^[6]，目前被IUCN归为无危物种，但可能受尚比西河栖地破坏的威胁^[1]。

本鱼体细长呈鳗形。头部圆钝，眼睛退化的很小，其后有感觉孔。背鳍基点在最前方，胸鳍的鳍膜很广，鳍的长度偏短，口位低，吻部厚实，有坚硬的板状齿，体色为浅暗灰色，具有灰褐色、红褐色的花纹，腹部灰色，体长可达44.3公分，是体型最小的肺鱼之一^[7]。
