2014年1月10日，NBC电视台宣布“非关男孩”在2014年2月21日(星期五)晚间10:30(东部时间)，修改为2014年2月22日星期六晚间11:00(东部时间)首映。^[3] 之后会改成2014年2月25日(星期二)晚间9:00(东部时间)播出。^[4]

威尔‧费曼(Will Freeman)是一位成功的歌曲创作人兼单身汉，他有点玩世不恭，不想认真负责。不过当隔壁搬来一位单身母亲费欧娜(Fiona)以及她的11岁儿子马可仕(Marcus)之后，他的生活从此天翻地覆。

David Walton 饰演威尔‧费曼(Will Freeman)，男主角，歌曲创作人，试图假扮单亲父亲去认识一些单身母亲寻求一夜情。
Minnie Driver 饰演费欧娜‧布鲁尔(Fiona Brewer)，住在威尔隔壁的单身母亲，英国人。
Benjamin Stockham（英语：Benjamin Stockham）饰演马可仕‧布鲁尔(Marcus Brewer)，费欧娜的儿子，11岁，因为一场事故与威尔成为好朋友。
