伊曼紐爾·華勒斯坦（英語：Immanuel Wallerstein；1930年9月28日—2019年8月31日），或譯為伊曼紐爾·沃勒斯坦，是美國社會學家、歷史學家、經濟學家和政治學家，他是當代社會科學多學科綜合研究的倡導者，這種研究方法後來促使他提出了「世界體系理論」^[1]。

生平[編輯]

華勒斯坦1930年生於紐約。1954年和1959年在哥倫比亞大學先後獲得社會學碩士、博士學位。1958年－1971年，在哥倫比亞大學社會系任教；1971年－1976年任加拿大麥吉爾大學社會學教授。從1976年起，任紐約賓厄姆頓大學社會學教授和「費爾南·布羅代爾經濟、歷史體系和文明研究中心」主任。1977年起主編《評論》（Review）期刊。從2000年直到2019年去世，任耶魯大學資深研究員。1994年－1998年任國際社會學學會主席；1993－1995年任哥賓根重建社會科學委員會主席。他著述豐富，影響最大的著作是耗費30多年心血的《現代世界體系》（The Modern World-System）。

他曾於1998年10月至2019年7月每兩個月在Agence Global發表關於全球事務的評論。^[2]^[3]

評價[編輯]

華勒斯坦在社會科學方法論方面也有深刻的見解和豐富的論述。2000年，美國社會學協會全體會員，投票選舉一名二十世紀美國最偉大的社會學家，去世的和在世的都可以入選，結果華勒斯坦以高票勝出，當選為美國二十世紀最偉大的社會學家。是年美國社會學學會專門舉行儀式，慶祝這件事，會場爆滿，地下坐人，牆邊站人，外面走廊上擠滿人。先是三位大社會學家每人二十分鐘當面評價華勒斯坦，然後華勒斯坦做四十分鐘演講。整個儀式多次被暴風雨般的長時間熱烈鼓掌所打斷。^[4]
