森蚺行动 是2002年三月初美军、CIA战斗人员协同阿富汗军方及其他一些国家力量发动的旨在摧毁塔利班部队的作战行动。战斗发生地点位于阿富汗帕克蒂亚省东南的夏西柯特山谷与阿尔玛山区。[2]这场作战是美国发动阿富汗战争之后，自2001年12月托拉波拉战役之后发动的大规模用兵。也是在阿富汗战区首次投入大规模的常规陆地战力（先前只有特种部队参与小规模作战）进行直接战斗。
从3月2日到3月16日，1,700名美军与1000名亲阿富汗新政府的民兵以空运方式投入战斗区，朝估计有300-1000人藏匿的塔利班部队交火，夺取山谷控制权。塔利班战士倚靠山地山洞等地形死角持续以迫击炮与重机枪抵抗，朝自山脊空降的美军投注火力杀伤。塔利班指挥官塞法-拉赫曼-曼苏尔之后率援军到达战场。美军一开始估计山谷里的塔利班士兵为150-200人，之后发现有500-1000人。美军最初估计打死了至少500名敌军，但后续记者报导声称联军清理战场只寻找到23具塔利班士兵遗骸。在作战结束后数天，开始有媒体评论说此次行动“与其说是军事上的必要，不如说是被中了邪的媒体驱使的”。[3]
