    1.除非我自己提DYK或留過特別評論，否則可能一到三天才來DYK看一下，有事應該到我的討論頁留言，否則就算我偶爾在線上，也不會注意到任何呼叫。
    2.美國憲法原文並非不許徵收所得稅，有法源，也確曾徵收、且由國會制訂過相關法律，此修正案只是解除直接稅需由各州依人口攤派的限制。Pollock案只說某些聯邦徵收所得稅的方式違憲，而非你在首段所翻譯的「禁止」，所以你「推翻」一節也有誤。你應該把全文看過一次，並用至少一段話描述本修正案爭點之各方意見來龍去脈。
    3.我還是覺得這些美憲修正案的標題應改為「憲法第十六修正案」或「憲法修正案第十六條」，以免誤導（雖然憲法原文只有七條）。 -- WildCursive（留言） 2013年5月11日 (六) 10:13 (UTC)[回复]

這修正案是推翻了Pollock案，但Pollock案「不是禁止徵收所得稅」而只是「某些聯邦徵收所得稅的方式違憲」（only held that a tax on the income derived from real or personal property was so close to a tax on that property that it could not be imposed without apportionment.）所以被推翻的就不是你說的。
  • This amendment exempted income taxes from the constitutional requirements regarding direct taxes, after income taxes on rents, dividends, and interest were ruled to be direct taxes in Pollock v. Farmers'...
  • After Pollock, while income taxes on wages (as indirect taxes) were still not required to be apportioned by population, taxes on interest, dividends and rent income were required to be apportioned by population.
  • the Sixteenth Amendment was to relieve all income taxes when imposed from [the requirement of] apportionment...
  • the Sixteenth Amendment removes the Pollock requirement that certain income taxes (such as taxes on income "derived from real property" that were the subject of the Pollock decision), be apportioned among the states according to population
  • the federal income tax statute does not violate the Fifth Amendment's prohibition... does not violate the Article I, Section 8, Clause 1...
  • the Sixteenth Amendment itself did not grant the Congress the power to tax incomes, a power the Congress had since 1789, but only removed the possible requirement that any income tax be apportioned among the states according to their respective populations.
