灰长臂猿

灰长臂猿（学名：Hylobates muelleri）^[2]，为灵长目长臂猿科下的一个物种。

分类学[编辑]

此前，西部灰长臂猿（英语：Western grey gibbon）及东部灰长臂猿（英语：Eastern grey gibbon）被认为与灰长臂猿为同种，但近年来更多研究显示三者均为独立的物种，而IUCN红色名录与美国哺乳动物学学会（英语：American Society of Mammalogists）也同意这样的研究分析结果^[2]^[4]^[5]^[6]。

与其他长臂猿不同的是，灰长臂猿在毛色上并没有呈现两性异形，无论是雌性或雄性个体毛色均呈灰至棕色，脸周遭则具有较偏白色的毛发，而头顶毛色较深。它们的体重约为4至8千克（8.8至17.6磅），属于体型较小的长臂猿物种^[7]。

灰长臂猿为婆罗洲加里曼丹的特有种，栖息于岛屿的东南部，分布于巴里托河向东及马哈坎河以南^[2]。

灰长臂猿为栖息于雨林内的昼行性物种，主要以水果为食，具有与其他长臂猿一样的长手臂，可于树木间摆荡（英语：brachiation）。雄性与雌性个体会成对生活，并透过大声吼叫来威吓入侵到领地的其他个体；目前仍未完全能理解它们的生育行为，但推测可能与其他长臂猿物种大同小异^[7]。
