峨螺科（学名：Buccinidae）是新腹足目之下一个物种非常丰富、分布范围极广的科[2]。 峨螺可以磨碎藤壶的壳并捕食藤壶。
多元性[编辑]
本科共有超过1500个不同物种，当中绝大多数均生活在海洋里，但有8到10个物种在淡水生活[1]。
分类[编辑]
根据布歇特和洛克罗伊的腹足类分类 (2005年)，峨螺科之下简单可分为六个亚科[4]：
- 峨螺亚科 Buccininae Rafinesque, 1815
- Beringiinae Golikov & Starobogatov, 1975
- Busyconinae Wade, 1917 (1867)
- Donovaniinae Casey, 1904 - synonym: Lachesinae L. Bellardi, 1877 (inv.)
- Pisaniinae Gray, 1857 - synonyms: Photinae Gray, 1857; Pusiostomatidae Iredale, 1940
- Siphonaliinae Finlay, 1928 - synonym: Austrosiphonidae Cotton & Godfrey, 1938
WoRMS过往还列出有第七个亚科Colinae Gray, 1857，但未有将相关的Colini族，而是将之保留在峨螺亚科之下[2]。但现时的做法，是所有属不论亚科，一致放在峨螺科底下。单单是在ITIS列出属于峨螺科的属，就有48个[3]。
