大公 (拜占庭)

大公（希腊语：μέγας δούξ）是晚期东罗马帝国最高等级的头衔之一。在外文文献中，有时也用该词的半拉丁化写法megaduke或者megadux。希腊词希腊语：μέγας（拉丁化：mega）意为“大”，而“公爵”（希腊语：δούξ）来自拉丁语“公爵”（en:dux），意味“领导人”或“将领”。后来“公爵”（希腊语：δούξ）这个词演变成为特指贵族头衔的“公爵”。
