棒旋星系

棒旋星系是旋渦星系的核心有明亮的恆星湧出聚集成短棒，並橫越過星系的中心；其旋臂則看似由短棒的末端湧現至星系之中。而在普通的螺旋星系，恆星都是由核心直接湧出的；在星系分類法以符號SB表示。
