金牛座RY是在金牛座的一颗年轻金牛T星,属于金牛座分子云,距离大约光年远。它的质量比典型的 450 金牛T星更大,可能是这个类别和赫比格Ae/Be星之间的中间体[10]
恒星系统
[编辑]在2008年发现金牛座RY疑似有一颗伴星:视星等14.81的2MASS J04215810+2826300,投影的距离约1,500 AU[11]reference = [11]。但来自盖亚任务的数据,已经证明这是一颗与金牛座RY无关的背景星[12]。
原行星系统
[编辑]2006年发现这颗恒星被原行星盘包围[10]。圆盘主要由气体组成,质量为0.3M☉[13]。原行星盘的存在是有争议的;该信号也可以归因于出生的部分壳层被年轻恒星破坏。此外,还检测到极地喷流[14]。射流含有可检测量的氧和硫[6]。
自2021年以来,怀疑在距离0.2AU的轨道上,有一颗超级木星等级的行星[15]。

变异性
[编辑]金牛座RY会改变亮度(高达1.5星等)[14],是当恒星穿过原行星盘内部的不均匀性时,因遮蔽产生亮度波动的猎户型变星 [13]。它还会产生不规则的增亮事件,持续时间约为一个月,振幅为一个星等[16]。 金牛座RY的光度曲线在十年内变化2-3个星等,在一年内变化大约一个星等。 这颗恒星可能改变了这一过程中的变异机制,因而在20世纪逐渐变亮[17]。
