整張專輯在2007年4月14日晚間六點的時候首先於渥太華的廣播電台HOT 89.9首播。其中第一張單曲《女朋友》（Girlfriend）原定於1月29日首先發行。但由於前張單曲"Keep Holding On"在廣播中的熱度持續發燒，因而暫緩了日期。2月26日艾薇兒在渥太華電台HOT 89.9推出首個"Girlfriend"的影片。埃文·陶本菲德是她的結他伴手在她的影片登場一次，已在MySpace網誌確認。

艾薇兒·拉維尼已經開始了《美麗壞東西》的小型宣傳之旅、進行表演。只有歌友會的會員能夠進場。巡迴演唱首站選在加拿大亞伯特省的卡加利，而當時只有大約200名觀眾。卡加利站的演出已於2007年4月2日時在CBC Network上播出，節目內容包括艾薇兒演唱美麗壞東西以及幕後花絮。

  • "Girlfriend"在3月初期在公告牌百強單曲榜排行榜排第五，這是艾薇兒出道以來最高排名以及在iTunes的下載次數超過12萬2千次。 "Girlfriend"在Billboard's Top Digital Songs排行榜排第三。 歌曲"Girlfriend" 有七種語言版本，與英語版不同之處只是將歌詞被翻譯成西班牙語、葡萄牙語、中文、日語、意大利語、德語及法語。Avril's接著發行的單曲"Girlfriend" 在24小時之內成為iTunes Store第10。

The Best Damn Thing在英國僅僅發行了幾小時就已經賣出了1.9萬張，最終首周銷量超過了6萬張，成為了艾薇兒的第三張英國冠軍專輯。
