音乐历程[编辑]

背景与团名由来[编辑]

Pentatonix的起点是克斯蒂，米切及斯科特这三位同样就读阿灵顿马丁高校（Martin High School）的好朋友。他们得知当地电台节目即将举办一个比赛，胜出者可以与电视剧欢乐合唱团的演员见面，于是便提交了他们重新编曲的Telephone三人合唱版。虽然他们最终没能胜出，但却在学校引起热议，他们亦开始参与表演。后来他们三人版本的"Telephone"更在Youtube上引起关注，他们亦继续演出。

斯科特和克斯蒂于2010年从马丁高校毕业，斯科特随即前往南加州大学修读流行音乐学士课程，克斯蒂则到奥克拉荷马大学升学，主修音乐剧场，而三人之中年纪最轻的米切当时仍是高校学生。于南加州大学就读期间，斯科特加入了名为SoCal VoCals的无伴奏合唱团，并从成员本·布拉姆（Ben Bram）口中得知The Sing-Off这个节目，成员更鼓励他去参加节目试音。他游说Kirstie和Mitch一同参加，可是节目订明组合至少要有四位成员。后来他们通过朋友介绍认识了在无伴奏合唱界甚有名气的阿维，同时三人亦在Youtube上找到了凯文。在影片中，凯文同时表演节奏口技和拉奏大提琴，录得很高的观看次数。他毕业于耶鲁大学医学院预科课程，并曾到中国留学一年，说得一口流利的普通话。

五人于The Sing-Off第三季试音前一天正式会面。米切为了能准时参加试音，放弃了自己的高校毕业礼。他们成功通过试音，最终更成为了2011年（第三季）的冠军。 组合名称Pentatonix由斯科特提出，灵感来自五声音阶（pentatonic scale），他们认为五声音阶很配合他们五位成员。而把"pentatonic"最后一个字母换成"x"，是希望使名字更吸引人。他们的音乐受到流行音乐、回响贝斯、电子、雷鬼以及嘻哈音乐影响衍生而成。 曾演出《歌喉赞2》中的加拿大队。

PTX, Volume 1 及 PTXMas (2012-13)[编辑]

斯科特和克斯蒂为了能在The Sing-Off中取胜而决定中途退学。赢出比赛后，所有成员一同移居到洛杉矶，开展他们的录音歌手事业。组合的主要目标是成为近年首队主流无伴奏合唱组合。

2012年1月，Pentatonix开始在Youtube上载热门及经典歌曲的翻唱影片。他们部分翻唱歌曲在Youtube拥有超高人气，包括Gotye(feat. Kimba)的"Somebody That I Used to Know"、PSY的江南Style以及Fun的"We Are Young"等。

万众期待的Pentatonix迷你专辑PTX Vol. 1于2012年6月26日发行，旋即占据美国Billboard 200专辑榜第14位及电子榜第5位，发行首周已录得20,000张销量。他们透过亮相不同电视节目宣传此专辑，并曾以嘉宾身份亮相中国版The Sing-Off，Kevin更即场展示自己流利的普通话。

Pentatonix亦于2012年秋季开始他们首个全国巡回演唱会，到访30个城市，门票全数售罄。他们表示，首次巡回演唱会提供一个机会让他们与粉丝见面和了解如何只用人声表演90分钟。开场前的表演单位有Alexander Cardinale和SJ Acoustic Music。

2012月11月13日，他们推出了圣诞迷你专辑PTXmas，紧接在第二天在Youtube上发布了"Carol of the Bells"的音乐录影带。其后更参与了不同的大型演出宣传专辑，包括11月18日的"Coca-Cola Red Carpet LIVE! @ The 2012 American Music Awards"和荷里活圣诞大巡游，他们更是12月16日"94.7 THE WAVE Christmas Concert Starring Dave Koz and Kenny Loggins"的开场嘉宾。Ryanseacrest.com为五人冠上"年度瞩目艺人"（Featured Artist of the Year）的名衔，以表扬组合在短短一年间发展迅速。

PTX Vol. II (2013-14)[编辑]

Pentatonix由2013年1月24日至2013年5月11日举行第二次全国巡回演唱会，同时筹备将于2013年秋季推出的第二张迷你专辑。

除了制作自己的专辑外，Pentatonix亦有与其他歌手艺人合作。2013年3月，他们发布了一条与小提琴家琳赛·斯特林合作的短片，翻唱Imagine Dragons的歌曲"Radioactive"，一推出便在Billboard榜的古典电子音乐类别中登上榜首。

2013年10月2日，Pentatonix在他们的Youtube官方频道上载了Lorde-"Royals"的翻唱影片。

PTX Vol. II已于2013年11月5日推出，内含四首翻唱歌曲（包括Macklemore and Ryan Lewis的"Can't Hold Us"和一首Daft Punk串烧歌)和四首原创歌曲，包括："Natural Disaster"、"Love Again"、"Hey Momma/Hit the Road Jack"以及"Run to You"。专辑还附赠Swedish House Mafia的混搭歌曲 "Save the World/Don't You Worry Child"。Pentatonix发布于Youtube的影片"The Evolution of Beyoncé"大获好评，连Beyoncé本人也有看过，这令他们终于在2013年11月时亮相The Ellen DeGeneres Show，宣传PTX, Vol. II。

Pentatonix于2014年5月正式与Sony Music Entertainment旗下的唱片公司RCA Records签约[5] ，并于7月30日在日本发行加盟新公司后首张专辑PTX, Vols 1 & 2，收录了他们两张迷你专辑内所有歌曲、4首曾以单曲形式发行的歌曲及日本版独有的"Let It Go"。

PTX Vol. III 及 That's Christmas to Me (2014)[编辑]

Pentatonix第3张迷你专辑PTX Vol. III已于2014年9月23日推出，并将于10月21日推出第2张圣诞专辑That's Christmas to Me[6]。

同名专辑、A Pentatonix Christmas 及 PTX, Vol. IV (2015–17)[编辑]

2015年8月28日，Pentatonix在社交媒体上宣布，将于2015年10月16日发行一张同名专辑Pentatonix（英语：Pentatonix (album)），这是他们第三张完整专辑、第一张主要由原创音乐组成的专辑、以及首张登上美国Billboard 200上排名第一的专辑。2016年2月8日，该专辑获得了黄金认证。[7]

2016年10月21日，Pentatonix发行了他们的第二张完整圣诞专辑A Pentatonix Christmas。它首次亮相在Billboard 200时排名第三，第一周售出52,000张专辑[8] ，后来排名第一[9] 。这张专辑也在Billboard Holiday Albums排行榜上登上首位，是自That's Christmas to Me之后的第二次。[8]

2017年4月7日，Pentatonix发行了他们的第五张迷你专辑PTX, Vol. IV – Classics[10]。

新成员、Top Pop, Vol. I 及 Christmas Is Here! (2017–现在)[编辑]

2017年5月，Pentatonix在视频中宣布成员阿维将在即将到来的巡回演唱会完结后离开乐队。[11]同年7月31日，Pentatonix发行了新单曲，翻唱自Robyn的“Dancing on My Own”，这亦是第一首没有阿维参与的歌曲（虽然他当时仍未离队），凯文在歌曲中演奏了大提琴以替代低音歌手。[12]同年9月3日，阿维最后一次作为Pentatonix成员完成了巡回演唱会最后一场[11]。

同年10月13日，Pentatonix介绍了麦特·沙利作为乐队的新主唱(男低音)，并在2018年2月23日以新阵容发行了第一首单曲，翻唱自Camila Cabello的“Havana”[13] 。

2018年2月27日，Pentatonix透过社交媒体宣布将于2018年4月13日发行一张名为PTX Presents: Top Pop, Vol. I的专辑，并会在之后的夏天进行巡回演出[14]。这是他们以新阵容发行的首张专辑。

同年9月20日，Pentatonix宣布将于10月26日发行他们的第三张完整圣诞专辑Christmas Is Here!以及正式公布了巡回演唱会The Christmas Is Here! Tour。这是他们以新阵容进行的首个巡回演唱会。9月28日，他们公开了这张专辑其中一首单曲，翻唱自怪诞城之夜 (电影)当中的"Making Christmas"[15]。
