黑头凫（Pteronetta hartlaubii）是非洲森林中一种呈深栗色的鸭。它们最初被认为是栖鸭，后来被改为属于钻水鸭。[2]但是，它们始终与之有所分别，故被分类在独有的属中。
黑头凫体重约790克，翼长约267毫米，嘴峰长约50毫米，喙宽度约19.8毫米，喙厚度约15.4毫米，跗跖长约41.6毫米，尾长约95毫米。黑头凫是部分迁徙的鸟类，其栖息在开放的湖泊、沼泽等湿地环境中，食性为肉食性。[3]
根据线粒体DNA细胞色素b及NADH脱氢酶亚基2的分析，发现黑头凫与蓝翅雁属于一个独特的分支。[4]
黑头凫分布在西非及中非，由几内亚及塞拉里昂，东至尼日利亚及苏丹，南至加蓬、刚果共和国及扎伊尔。
黑头凫的命名是为纪念德国自然学家盖斯塔尔夫·哈特拉伯（Gustav Hartlaub）。
