西奈半島動亂是由伊斯蘭武裝分子在西奈半島引發的動亂，最早始於埃及危機（英語：Egyptian Crisis (2011–present)）的爆發。在看到穆巴拉克長期的獨裁統治在2011年埃及革命中被推翻後，主要由當地貝都因人組成的武裝利用國內混亂局面和政府權威被削弱之際，開始對西奈半島上的政府軍發起了一系列的攻擊。新上台的臨時政府也於2011年中開始對叛亂展開反擊，主要包括雄鷹行動（英語：Operation Eagle）及之後的西奈行動（英語：Operation Sinai (2012)）。

2013年5月，在埃及政府官員遭到綁架後，西奈半島的暴亂事件再度激增。隨着政變的發生，時任總統穆罕默德·穆爾西被推翻，西奈半島爆發了前所未有的衝突^[21] 。2014年當地武裝組織耶路撒冷聖殿支援團（英語：Ansar Bait al-Maqdis）公開聲明效忠伊斯蘭國並更名為伊斯蘭國西奈省。相關的恐怖襲擊活動持續至2015年。當地安全官員表示，當地武裝組織已經同利比亞的組織取得了聯繫^[22]。

2017年11月，阿里什以西的一座清真寺被襲擊，造成300多名蘇菲派信徒死亡，一百多人受傷。^[23]
