异鳃类（学名：Heterobranchia；意义为“有不同鳃的蜗牛”），为分类学腹足纲软体动物中的一个分类，包括有蜗牛、蛞蝓、淡水螺、海螺及海蛞蝓。本分类曾经只是一个总目，在WoRMS定为亚纲级。一般分类都视作一个直属腹足纲的支序。异鳃类是腹足纲软体动物的一个主要分支。按Bouchet et al. (2005)，异鳃类包括下列三个非正式的分组：

• 下异鳃类（the Lower Heterobranchia）
• 后鳃类（the Opisthobranchia）
• 有肺类（the Pulmonata）

多样性

异鳃类这个大型分类的三个分类的多样性颇大：

• 下异鳃类（the Lower Heterobranchia）包括有壳的海螺和淡水螺。
• 后鳃类（the Opisthobranchia）几乎全部皆为海洋物种，包括有壳和没有壳的。这个分类的物种的维生器官实质上在进行倒退演化，需要经历由弯曲变直的过程，成为和其祖先一样的左右对称的身体。
• 有肺类（the Pulmonata）包括大多数的蜗牛和蛞蝓、许多淡水螺类，以及少量的海洋物种。有肺类的外套腔演变成为可呼吸空气的器官。它们的特征还在于已复位的躯体和对称布置的神经系统，这一点与后鳃类一样。有肺类物种几乎都没有口盖，而且皆为雌雄同体。

分类

分类的历史

传统的形态学分类按腹足纲物种不同的鳃结构而分类，使其鳃相似而令不同的科成为其成员，但其他部分则可以截然不同。

异鳃总目在近期建立(G. Haszprunar, 1985)，其包含的科以前被放在腹足纲的不同分类中。早期的作者（如约翰·爱德华·格雷，1840年）把异鳃总目当作后鳃目（Opisthobranchia；旧称后鳃亚纲）、有肺目（Pulmonata；旧称有肺亚纲）及其他腹足纲的分界线。

下异鳃类

下异鳃类，旧称异旋目（Heterostropha）。根据WoRMS，下异鳃类包括有大约40个总科与科。

本类的车轮螺科（Architectonicidae）俗称日晷螺（sundial snails）或梯螺（staircase snails）。车轮螺科的主要特点为拥有异旋壳（heterostrophic）的胎壳（protoconch），即顶点的螺层与成年的螺层位于不同的平面。

有肺目

有肺目的外套腔（mantle cavity）已经改变成为一个呼吸空气的器官。有肺目亦有身体需要经历由弯曲变直的过程及左右对称的神经系统的特征。有肺目通常都没有口盖（Operculum，亦作厣），并为雌雄同体（hermaphroditic）。有肺目包括大部分陆地上的蜗牛及蛞蝓，不少淡水蜗牛及少量海洋物种。

较旧的分类

异鳃类支序现时所包括的各个科，过往曾属于腹足纲之下不同的分类。早期的作者（例如：J.E. Gray, 1840）曾以为异鳃类只有海洋物种，概念上属于介乎后鳃类和肺螺类之间其他物种的边缘分类。

The (sometimes recognized) category Heterostropha within the Heterobranchia, which includes such families as Architectonicidae, the sundial or staircase snails, is primarily characterized by a shell which has a heterostrophic protoconch, in other words the apical whorls are coiled in the opposite plane to the adult whorls. The classification of this group was revised by Ponder & Warén in 1988.

根据比较旧的腹足纲分类表 (1997年)，异鳃类是一个总目级的分类元。

2005年分类

The graph of neighbor-joining phylogenetic tree shows that there is no clade-supporting pattern for the monophyly of Opisthobranchia (green) or of Pulmonata (yellow) based on datasets by Jörger et al. (2010).

在2004年出版的新研究中，把单系群（monophyletic）的有肺目及并系群（paraphyletic）的后鳃目归纳在同一分支（Clade）直神经类 Euthyneura Spengel 1881中。此分支与侧系群的异旋目（pyramidelids 及其他相关组别）定义了分支异鳃总目
