約翰·羅傑·貝爾德（John Logie Baird，1888年8月13日—1946年6月14日），英國工程師及發明家，電動機械電視和彩色電視系統的發明人。他的其他發明貢獻包括發展光纖、無線電測向運動、紅外線夜視鏡及雷達。
出生和教育
[編輯]貝爾德出生於蘇格蘭阿蓋爾-比特的海倫堡。他早期在海倫堡的拉知菲學校受教育。拉知菲學校現為羅門學校一部分。之後貝爾德先後於格拉斯哥和西蘇格蘭技術學院（史特拉斯克萊德大學前身）和格拉斯哥大學學習。但因為第一次世界大戰，貝爾德沒有完成他的學位。
電視實驗

首次公眾示範
[編輯]1925年，貝爾德在倫敦Selfridges百貨公司首次對公眾示範電視。1928年7月3日，他演示了世界上第一次彩色電視傳輸[1][2]。
電視廣播
[編輯]他成功將1931年葉森打吡首次作電視直播。1944年8月16日，他首次演示全電子彩色電視顯示屏[3]。
