似剑齿虎族（学名：Homotherini），又名似剑虎族或锯齿虎族，为食肉目猫科下已灭绝的一族，分布于中新世至更新世[1]的北美洲、欧洲、亚洲、非洲与南美洲[2]。
描述[编辑]
相较于剑齿虎族，包括斯剑虎、巨颏虎、巴博剑齿虎，似剑齿虎族物种的上犬齿较小，但是边缘带有锯齿[3][4]。这种带有锯齿的牙齿也曾在其他科的哺乳动物物种上出现过[5]。
演化[编辑]
针对化石中线粒体DNA的分析研究显示，似剑齿虎约于 18 百万年前与斯剑虎分支[6]
带有锯齿的剑齿可能帮助狩猎当时的草食性巨型动物群，带有锯齿的边缘很适合从猎物身上撕扯下血肉。不过当剑齿碰触到骨头时，其边缘可能因此磨损，或是牙齿直接断裂，这可能会使得该个体无法再进行狩猎，进而饥饿或是死亡[4][7]。
