旁蒙古語族是擬議的蒙古語系下的已滅絕語族，包含幾種歷史上有記載的已滅絕語言，如契丹語和吐谷渾語等。
語言[編輯]
匈奴語、東胡與烏桓的語言可能屬於旁蒙古語族，[1]鮮卑語、拓跋語和契丹語可能也是。由於鮮卑語和拓跋語的現存資料非常稀少，只能假設它們可能存在發生關係。契丹語雖然有豐富的證據，但大多是用契丹大字和契丹小字寫的，尚未完全破譯。不過，從現有證據來看，與蒙古語系的關係是可能的。[2][3]
拓跋語[編輯]
亞歷山大·沃文 (2007)認為已滅絕的拓跋語屬於蒙古語系，[4]但Chen (2005)[5]則認為屬於突厥語系。
Shimunek將拓跋語、吐谷渾語和契丹語都歸為「鮮卑」語（即旁蒙古語族）。[6]
柔然語[編輯]
亞歷山大·沃文 (2018)認為，柔然的柔然語也屬於蒙古語系，與中古蒙古語接近但不相同。[7]
契丹語[編輯]
楊虎嫩 (2006)將契丹語劃入「旁蒙古語系」，這是說契丹語和蒙古語系構成姐妹群。[8]亞歷山大·沃文 (2017)[9]也發現了幾可能從朝鮮語系借入契丹語的詞彙。
吐谷渾語[編輯]
沃文 (2015)將已滅絕的吐谷渾語劃入旁蒙古語族。[10]
內部分類[編輯]
Shimunek (2017)提出了「鮮卑–烏桓語系」，是蒙古語系的姐妹分支，在他的分類中它們共同構成鮮卑–蒙古語系。[6]
