EA 2018在洛杉矶会展中心举办，从6月12日开始到6月18日结束。在几天前，许多发行商已经举行了新闻发布会，一般个有流媒体广播的大型剧场中进行现场演示，或者展示流式预录制的片段，强调下一年计划中的新游戏。在展会期间，开发商和发行商设立展台，让行业成员、新闻媒体、零售商代表、公众尝试新的游戏，并与创作者交谈。在附近的场地还举行了一些的活动，比如电子游戏锦标赛。

与E3 2017相同，E3 2018也向公众开放。为了解决大厅过度拥挤的问题，E3 2018在向公众开放前安排了几个小时只向行业人员开放，只有拥有免费赠送的行业通行证和可公开购买的商业通行证的人才能在这些时间进入[3][4]。面向公众的通行证中，有1000份玩家通行证以149美元的价格出售，而剩下的依照先到先得原则以249美元的价格出售，这些公开发售的通行证都在2018年2月12日开始出售[5]。

艺电在会展中心附近举办了一个单独的活动, 没有参加E3展会。从6月9日到11日，EA Play 2018活动在好莱坞帕拉丁音乐厅（英语：Hollywood Palladium）举办[6]。艺电的新闻发布会在6月9日11点开始（太平洋时间）[7]，涵盖了战地5、FIFA 19、星际大战 绝地：组织殒落、星际大战：前线II、毛线小精灵2、盗贼之海、NBA Live 19、Madden NFL 19（英语：Madden NFL 19）、命令与征服：对决（英语：Command & Conquer: Rivals）、冒险圣歌。艺电宣布其游戏平台Origin软件服务将推出高级订阅服务，允许提前享受为零售发行的作品并且在2018年后段时间支持云游戏[8]。
