《以火焚雨》[1]（英語：Set Fire to the Rain）是英國創作型女歌手愛黛兒第二張錄音室專輯《21》中收錄的一首歌曲。這首歌曲由愛黛兒本人與英國製作人弗雷澤·史密斯（英語：Fraser T Smith）共同創作，而史密斯同時還擔任了歌曲的製作工作。歌曲於2011年7月4日作為專輯的第二支歐洲單曲和第三支英國單曲發行，在英國單曲排行榜最高排名第11位。

《以火焚雨》由愛黛兒和弗雷澤·史密斯（英語：Fraser T Smith）共同創作，史密斯同時還擔任了歌曲的製作人。[4]2011年7月4日，單曲作為專輯第三支英國單曲正式發行。[5]而在美國，哥倫比亞唱片原計劃將《有謠言說（英語：Rumour Has It (Adele song)）》作為專輯《21》的第三支美國單曲，但並未如期發行。同年11月21日，《以火焚雨》取代了《有謠言說》成為第三支美國單曲正式發行。[6][7]哥倫比亞唱片表示：「我們調查發現節目編排人員更偏愛《以火焚雨》……《謠言》和《焚雨》這兩首歌的反響都很熱烈，但相比之下《焚雨》的反響更熱烈一些…… 因而最好先將《焚雨》一曲派到流行和成人音樂電台…… 目前看來電台和公眾對此都很滿意。」[6]

歌詞和樂曲[編輯]

《以火焚雨》是愛黛兒《21》專輯中的第5首曲目，由愛黛兒本人和製作人弗雷澤·史密斯共同作曲。歌曲以D小調寫成，速度是每分鐘108拍，採用了Dm–F–C–Gm–Dm–F–C–Csus4–C的和弦進行。歌曲中，愛黛兒的聲樂部分範圍從A3到D5。[8]這首歌是專輯中受到流行風格影響最大的一首歌曲。[9]與專輯中其他歌曲不同，這首歌沒有以低調樸實的方式編曲，而是在歌曲中速的節奏中採用了密集繁雜的器樂伴奏和龐大甚至略顯臃腫的弦樂編排，[10][11][12]為歌手悲傷的演唱營造了獨特的混響效果。[12][13]歌詞描述了愛情關係中的矛盾元素，以及難以放手的糾結心態。例如歌詞中的一句提到：「你和我在一起 / 沒有什麼比這更美好 / 但是你總有一面我永遠讀不懂 / 你說過的話從來不是真的 / 你總是知道怎樣玩弄我。」[註 1][11][14]而歌詞中的「火」和「雨」的矛盾則是愛黛兒看到雨中「燈光熄滅」而獲得的靈感。[15]

歌曲獲得的褒貶不一。許多評論家高度讚揚了愛黛兒的聲樂部分，同時亦有評論家對歌曲給出批評。《娛樂周刊》編輯莉亞·格林布萊特（Leah Greenblatt）稱讚歌曲是一首為「遭到輕視的女性」寫就的一首頌歌，稱歌曲「鼓動翻湧着鐵達尼號一般宏大悲鳴的純粹力量。」[17]
