Google TV是Google推出的一个在线随选视讯服务，用户可以通过该服务购买和租赁电影和电视节目。用户可以通过Google Play网站和Android和iOS装置上的Google TV移动应用程序使用该服务[1][1]。
2011年5月，Google发布Google Movies[2]，并于2012年3月将其并入Google Play[3]，名称也变更为Google Play Movies & TV。2020年9月，Google Play Movies & TV更名为Google TV[4]。

在电脑上，可以在Google Play网站的专用电影和电视部分或通过 Google Play 电影和电视Google Chrome 网络浏览器扩充功能观看内容。[12][13]然而，HD或 4K 播放在 PC 上不可用。除非在 Mac 上使用 Safari，否则分辨率将被限制为 SD (480p)。 [14]
在执行Android或iOS移动操作系统的智能手机和平板电脑上，可以在 Google TV移动应用程序上观看内容。[15]
在Chromebook上通过 Chrome 扩充功能支援离线下载和查看，在 Android 和 iOS 上通过移动应用程序支援离线下载和查看。执行Microsoft Windows和macOS操作系统的电脑无法下载内容。[16]
为了在电视上观看内容，用户可以使用HDMI电缆将电脑连接至电视，使用适用于LG、三星及Roku装置的精选智慧电视的 Google Play Movies & TV 应用程序，通过流式传输内容Chromecast，通过Amazon Fire TV、Apple TV、PlayStation 4、PlayStation 5、Xbox One、Xbox Series X。[17]
2021 年 4 月，Google 开始弃用Roku、LG、三星和 Vizio 智慧电视上的 Google Play Movies 应用程序，将这些平台上的用户重定向到 YouTube 应用程序。现有应用程序已于 7 月 15 日关闭。[18]
