帆翼龙科（Istiodactylidae）是翼龙目鸟掌翼龙超科的一科。帆翼龙科是在2001年建立，模式属是帆翼龙，科学家在发现帆翼龙不属于联鸟龙后，同时建立帆翼龙科、帆翼龙属。

夜翼龙科的化石发现于英国与中国，地质年代从白垩纪早期的巴列姆阶到阿普第阶[2]。在2011年命名的乌鸦翼龙（Gwawinapterus），生存于白垩纪晚期（坎潘阶）的加拿大，被归类于夜翼龙科[3]。但在2012年的一个牙齿替换率研究，发现乌鸦翼龙的牙齿替换率不符合翼龙类，显示它们可能是不属于翼龙类的其他爬行动物[2]。古帆翼龙（Archaeoistiodactylus）生存于侏㑩纪中期的中国，可能是生存年代最早的夜翼龙科[4]。但古帆翼龙的正模标本，可能是达尔文翼龙的一个保存较差化石[5]。红山翼龙也生存于中国，过去曾被归类于夜翼龙科。在2012年的种系发生学分析，红山翼龙被改归类于鸟掌翼龙超科的基础物种，而不属于夜翼龙科[2]。
帆翼龙科是群中型翼手龙类，喙嘴平坦、前端圆钝，类似鸭子。帆翼龙科的嘴部具有小型牙齿。
