西拉唑啉(INN:cirazoline)是α1A腎上腺素受體的完全激動劑、α1B和α1D腎上腺素受體的部分激動劑[1]以及α2腎上腺素受體的非選擇性拮抗劑。[2]據信,這種特性的組合可以使西拉唑啉成為有效的血管收縮劑。[2]
據稱,西拉唑啉還可以通過激活大腦下丘腦室旁核中的α1腎上腺素受體來減少大鼠的食物攝入量。[3]服用西拉唑啉似乎還會通過激活相同的受體來損害猴子的空間記憶。[4][5]然而,在初步研究中,通過刺激α2腎上腺素受體,工作記憶得到了相對改善。[4]
