Windows Internet Explorer 10（簡稱IE10）是微軟開發的最新版本的網頁瀏覽器，是Internet Explorer 9的下一代，也為Windows 8的預設瀏覽器。在2011年4月12日，微软推出首个“IE10平台预览版”，并只能运行于Windows 7或更高平台上[1][2]，而后续的预览版只能在Windows 8上运行。预览版在IE9正式版发布四周后就被釋出，因而有人认为这是在新一轮浏览器大战下而采取了高速发布周期[3]。IE10在IE9的基础上增强了CSS3解析及硬件加速功能[4]，并也支持了HTML5。

在Windows 8中，其将分为两个不同的版本，并使用不同的用户界面：其中新的Metro将不再支持插件，而传统的桌面程序将仍然保留插件支持[5]。默认情况下，64位元Windows 8上的Metro IE 10将在64位元模式下运行[6]。

Internet Explorer 10最早公布于2011年4月12日美國拉斯维加斯的MIX11发布会上[7]。在这场发布会上，微软展示了演示版的IE 10和演示版的Windows 8[8]。而在同一天，微软在Internet Explorer Test Drive网站上发布了Internet Exploere 10的平台预览版[4]。当时的预览版只支持Windows 7，而后来的预览版则只能在Windows 8上运行。测试版和候选发布版则都可以支持Windows 7[9]。

评论者对Internet Explorer 10平台预览版发布的看法各有不同；然而他们指出，继IE 9后很快发布（29天后）的预览版将是微软所说的下一代浏览器。当eWeek的唐·赖辛格列出了他对下一版本的功能请求时，PC Magzine的Michael Muchmore测试了平台预览版1在加载微软及第三方套件时的性能及对HTML5的支持情况[10][11]。

在2011年9月13日，微软为普通用户发布了Windows 8开发者预览版，其中就包含了Internet Explorer 10开发者预览版（首个完整版的IE10）[12]。虽然在Internet Explorer、Mozilla Firefox、Google Chrome、Opera和Safari这几个主要浏览器，IE是最后支持拼写检查的，但它却开创了桌面浏览器自动更正的先例[13][14][15][16]。

在2012年5月31日随Windows 8 Release Preview发布的IE 10 Release Preview，引进了一些新的特性，如支持

  • 渐变 (CSS 图像值和替换内容), gradient
  • CSS 动画 (animation)
  • CSS 过渡 (transition)
  • CSS 变换 (transform)
  • font-feature-settings 属性 (CSS 字体)
  • 索引数据库 API
  • 基于脚本的动画的时间控制

等功能的无前缀形式。IE10 Release Preview 是最新规范的第一个公开无前缀实施。但为确保与使用 Windows 8 Consumer Preview 开发的网站和应用的兼容性，IE10 仍将继续支持这些 (IE 10 Consumer Preview 所采用的) 标准使用 Microsoft 供应商前缀 (‑ms‑/ms) 的供应商前缀形式。[17][18]

IE 10 Release Preview 还增加了提供 PNG 磁贴图像并指定磁贴背景颜色的功能。这可以提供更高分辨率的视觉效果，以便通过用户的固定网站磁贴更好地展现网站品牌。[19]IE 10 RP 也新增了一些其它特性，包括从所有的模式中 (而不仅仅是 IE 10 标准模式) 均删除了旧的 DX filter, 同时可在默认情况下向网站发送“不跟踪”的信号，帮助用户保护其私人信息。[20]此外，Chakra 的性能同样得到了优化，如浮点数操作比 IE 9 快 50%。 [21]

IE10是IE家族首次完全通过Acid3测试的浏览器。虽然IE9的得分也是100/100，但由于其阴影渲染并不正确，故不算真正通过测试。

用户代理字符串 [编辑]

Internet Explorer 10拥有新的具有下列特性的用户代理字符串：[34]

这个字符串的不同部分会随着系统信息而改变。最后一个标记"Touch"只能出现于配备触摸屏的设备。操作平台标记如下：
