寬恕，或饒恕、原諒，是一種自願行爲，其中行爲人（即受害者）放棄針對加害方的消極感情（復仇等），甚至還能為對方祝好[1][2][3]。寬恕常被視為一種美德，宗教學、心理學和社會學等學科會研究其作用及原理。寬恕通常是個人行為，但源自國家和司法的行為，也有可能使用寬恕這個詞。「寬恕」是修行上一個很重要的起點。沒有寬恕的心，再怎麼講「愛」都是不足的。[4]

心理學上尚未對寬恕的定義達成一致，不過最起碼它是一個延續的“過程”，同時心理學家已經提出了一系列描述此過程的模型[5]。此外還有研究注重寬恕程度在人際間的差異，如神經質和易怒的人即使在很長一段時間之後也很難原諒加害者，甚至會籌劃報復行爲[6]。

而容易原諒別人的人通常活得更加開心、健康[7]。有研究顯示這類人的循環系統及神經系統都比不容易原諒他人者更加健康[8][9]。斯坦福大學的弗雷德·拉斯金（Fred Luskin）博士發現可以通過學習使得人更加寬容，從而更加健康[10][11]。

寬恕原諒是一種可遇不可求的行為，盡管受害者原諒兇手，是一件值得讚許的事情，但期望暴力犯罪的受害者原諒兇手，是一種非常無禮的行為、更是一種對他人的冒犯。[12]

寬恕與司法的關係[编辑]

寬恕常常指個人的行為；相較之下，赦免則是由特定的社會代表（如法官）宣佈不再追究加害方的責任，未必代表受害人的主觀意見。[2]但在法律上寬恕實際也有效力，如債權人可借此放棄對借債者的追究[13][14]；另外，寬恕在修復式司法中扮演一定的角色，雖然讓受害者原諒加害者未必是修復式司法的目的，但不可否認，修復式司法本身和寬恕息息相關。[15][16]

此外在中文語境中，「寬恕」也有可能應用於司法領域由政府機關所做出的行為，且可能指稱減輕處罰，而不一定指完全免除處罰，像例如中華民國的《公平交易法》中的「寬恕政策」，指的是參與聯合壟斷行為的企業，在配合主管機關調查聯合壟斷的狀況下，可以不受到處罰，或者得以減輕處罰，而未必單指完全不處罰的狀況；[17]在英語中，指稱「赦免」的Pardon一詞，和指稱「原諒」的forgiveness被一些字典給列為同義詞。[18]
