始孔子鳥（學名：Eoconfuciusornis）是中國1億3100萬年前早白堊世的滅絕鳥類,[1] 是已知的最古老的有喙鳥類。[2]
該屬包含一模式種：鄭氏始孔子鳥（Eoconfuciusornis zhengi），於2008年由周忠和等人命名。屬名結合了希臘語「鳥」和孔子鳥屬的名稱，種名來自中國鳥類學家鄭光美。[1]
發現[編輯]
鄭氏始孔子鳥的正模標本IVPP V11977發現於中國河北省豐寧滿族自治縣，標本中的骨架和大部分羽毛保存相對完好。[1]
形態[編輯]
始孔子鳥比孔子鳥體型稍小，兩者在無牙喙等特徵方面較為相似。始孔子鳥的腿部較長。始孔子鳥屬於孔子鳥科，可能是該類群中最基礎的物種，始孔子鳥的標本年齡比孔子鳥早約六百萬年。[1]
始孔子鳥的頸背和尾巴的羽毛是黑色的，在次生羽翼上有類似深色斑點的圖案。後肢和頭頂的羽毛是灰色的，而喉嚨部位的羽毛是棕色的。[3]
