甲戊炔醇是一種叔己醇，具有安眠、鎮靜和抗痙攣（英語：anticonvulsant）作用，治療指數低。甲戊炔醇最初由拜耳發現於1913年^[1]，此後曾短暫應用於治療失眠，後由於安全性更高的新型藥物出現而逐漸被淘汰。^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5]

20世紀50年代中期到60年代，甲戊炔醇在歐美等地又被應用為速效鎮靜劑，但很快被苯二氮䓬類藥物替代，並退出市場。^[6]

合成[編輯]

甲戊炔醇可通過丁酮和乙炔鈉在無水環境和惰性氣氛下反應而成。
