龙之气息辣椒（英语：Dragon's Breath），是目前仅次于X辣椒最辣的辣椒品种，其斯科维尔指标约2480000。此品种起源于英国威尔士圣亚萨，并由当地的诺丁汉特伦特大学参与开发过程。
缘由[编辑]
此辣椒由麦克‧史密斯所栽种，史密斯为圣亚萨登比郡人。据本人表示原本只是栽培新品种辣椒欲参加花卉大展，却意外打破辣椒的最辣纪录[1] 。命名为龙之气息的缘由则来自威尔士自古以来的的象征—红龙[2] 。这株辣椒为位于特伦特河畔纽瓦克ChilliBobs公司的业主尼尔‧普莱斯所提供，该植物在试验性质的特殊肥料配方下成长，其配方由NPK科技公司与诺丁汉特伦特大学联合开发。[3][4][5][6] 该辣椒在参展后意外获选2017年切尔西花卉大展年度最佳植物。[7]
辣度[编辑]
龙之气息宣称测得高达2480000斯科维尔指标的辣度，超越卡罗莱纳死神椒的2200000单位，成为以前世界上已知最辣的辣椒（未经健力士世界记录或其他机构认证），但几个月后被X辣椒以318万单位（健力士世界记录269万SHU）超过[8]。
外观[编辑]
外观较小，且底部呈现扁平，表面大致呈现光滑，结果过程中会往内皱缩并带有蜷曲。[9]
